专业概况

The construction engineering technology major provides educational experiences for the development of technical knowledge and skills necessary in today’s construction industry. The program provides education in both the management and technical aspects, thus providing optimum opportunities for employment.

Engineering technologists engage in complex projects such as microchip design, software integration and automation using advanced tools such as computer modeling and simulation programs.

Engineering technologists work side-by-side with engineering specialists and scientists in design, research and development, quality control, product development and manufacturing.

You will gain the practical skills needed to work in the field with an Engineering Technology degree from UNT. Graduates of the program are highly sought after in nearly every industry sector. Many stay at UNT to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in technical fields, business and law.

The engineering technology curriculum is multidisciplinary and project-based. In your first year, you’ll take math and basic science courses, including calculus and general chemistry. As you progress through the program, you can enroll in technical electives that provide an in-depth knowledge of your concentration.

In the Construction Engineering Technology program, you’ll begin taking major courses during the first semester of your freshman year.

The Career Center, Learning Center and professional academic advisors are among the many valuable resources available to you at UNT. The Career Center can provide advice about internships, future employment opportunities and getting hands-on experience in your major. The Learning Center offers workshops on speed reading, study skills and time management. Academic advisors will help you plan your class schedule each semester.
