The thriving healthcare industry provides some of the nation’s best job opportunities. Our Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration is focused on the development and practical application of the leadership and managerial skills essential to health care managers and executives in today’s competitive marketplace. Well-suited for the health professional, this program is offered entirely online.

About Our Program

For students seeking admission for Fall 2021, this program is expected to increase from 36 credit hours to 45 credit hours and to be offered with two electives instead of four concentration electives pending Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approval.

The program is designed to provide a broad foundation in health care delivery systems; management strategies; ethical and legal issues in the healthcare environment; the role of Information systems and technology in high quality and efficient care delivery; marketing health services; and in the principles of sound financial management. The program is comprised of 36 credit hours or 12 courses. There are eight core courses in the program that encompasses health services administration. The remaining four courses are concentration courses, this allows students to focus on a particular area of interest relevant to their unique career goals. Concentrations are available in Applied Gerontology, Health Data Analytics, Health Informatics, and Rehabilitation Services.

While the program is delivered entirely online, you will find a high level of interaction with faculty and your classmates. We have found this emphasis in networking to be crucial for an improved exchange of ideas and to help our students explore areas that interest them most. This program can be completed within 21 months by going full time (9 credits) for four sequential semesters. You can also tailor your schedule and workload to meet your individual needs.
