The Department of Theatre and Dance cultivates critical thinking and analysis, and helps students develop tools for creative expression.

For emerging artists and specialists, we provide tools to build careers in their chosen field and networks to the professional world, both nationally and internationally. We serve the community through high quality performance events that showcase student and faculty artistic work and serve as a laboratory for applying skills learned in the classroom and studio.

Career Opportunities:

A general program that prepares individuals to express ideas, feelings, and/or inner visions through the performance of one or more of the dance disciplines, including but not limited to ballet, modern, jazz, ethnic, and folk dance, and that focuses on the study and analysis of dance as a cultural phenomenon. Includes instruction in technique, choreography, Laban notation, dance history and criticism, and dance production.

为来自中国的学生设计 Secondary Education: Completion of the equivalent of an American upper secondary school education (approximately twelve years of formal education beginning at age six) and have the appropriate diplomas or satisfactory results on leaving examinations (if completed). Academic Preparation: Strong academic preparation or a U.S. equivalent grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants) or 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (for transfer students with the equivalent of 24 college credit hours). TOEFL (internet-based) 68, TOEFL (paper-based) 520, IELTS 6.0, Pearson Test of English 47.
