The goal of the BS Biology degree is for students to understand a wide range of basic principles in modern Biology, comprehend the scientific method and its application to problems in Biology, and to learn how to interpret and present biological data in written and oral formats.

Career Opportunities

A general program of biology at the introductory, basic level or a program in biology or the biological sciences that is undifferentiated as to title or content. Includes instruction in general biology and programs covering a variety of biological specializations.

Concentration Information

Students majoring in Biology learn about the basic organization, processes and dynamics of the living world. The program of study provides students with a liberal education emphasizing the life sciences. The many subdisciplines of biology can prepare students for a wide range of careers and professional schools.

为来自中国的学生设计 Secondary Education: Completion of the equivalent of an American upper secondary school education (approximately twelve years of formal education beginning at age six) and have the appropriate diplomas or satisfactory results on leaving examinations (if completed). Academic Preparation: Strong academic preparation or a U.S. equivalent grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants) or 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (for transfer students with the equivalent of 24 college credit hours). TOEFL (internet-based) 68, TOEFL (paper-based) 520, IELTS 6.0, Pearson Test of English 47.
