在这里学什么？ The courses blend of illustration and animation skillsets give it both discipline and industry-relevance, deftly anticipating emerging markets and trends. This includes the development of web comics, augmented reality and the use of 3D printed artefacts. Typical graduate portfolios might include complete books, comics, animations and films in a range of technologies and media.With access to industry-standard software, workshops and studio environments, you’ll have the opportunity to gain practical experience through a mix of in-house assignments, self-initiated tasks, national and international competition opportunities, project briefs and concept visualisation briefs.We have strong links with many regional arts organisations, for example, the Mead Gallery at the Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry Art space, Coventry Collective//Pod, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum and the Earlsdon Festival. Whilst studying, we will help you to develop many industry connections, building your professional networks and working on live project briefs and commissions for a wide range of creative organisations, such as D&AD, Penguin and YCN.Our acclaimed FACETS talks provide an opportunity to hear direct from some of the most innovative contemporary artists and creative practitioners from the UK and beyond – recent topics have explored current changes in cultural opportunities across Eastern and Western Europe, post-object art practices in the context of digital media and the impact that artists can have on their environments.Key Course Benefits:- Research expertise in moving image, performance, and contemporary illustration practice. - Induction and refresher sessions and technical demonstrations in specialist software such as Autodesk and the Adobe Creative Cloud. - Access to specialist photographic and media resources, including digital audio recorders and manual/digital still/video cameras via our dedicated Media Loan Shop.- Optional study trips at home and abroad, in the past to London, Liverpool, Birmingham, New York, Berlin, Madrid and the Venice Biennale (additional costs may apply).- Strong track record of student success in a range of competitions, including the D&AD Awards, the Macmillan Prize for Children’s Picture Book Illustration, Creative Conscience and YCN- A thriving studio culture with dedicated workspaces for all students in purpose-built studios with permanent exhibition displays, supported by wide-ranging technical facilities in both traditional and new technologies.- Opportunities to show your work regularly – past students have exhibited nationally and internationally at New Blood, Free Range and New Designers exhibitions in London, as well as the Hangzhou Animation Festival, China. - Impressive guest lecture programme, which in the past has featured talks from: Chris McGill, Peter Bernard, Lee Torrance and Fig Taylor.
