Our MSc in Clinical Research can be tailored to your specific needs, ensuring that you walk away with skills and knowledge that are relevant to your chosen career. Through our exciting mix of multidisciplinary modules, you’ll also benefit from exposure to students from the related health and social care professions, with whom you will be able to share practice, knowledge and ideas.?

You will experience a variety of teaching methods including online delivery as well as face to face small groupwork. We encourage the use of problem-solving and evidence-based techniques – a stimulating and exciting way to learn. During your time with us we’ll help you develop the skills to conduct critical analysis of the evidence that underpins healthcare as we know it, and to carry out in-depth qualitative and quantitative research relevant to your own practice. We’ll also give you the opportunity to develop an understanding of an extensive range of research methodologies, all appropriate and relevant to developing your clinical research career.?

You will be assigned your own personal adviser – to support you through the course. And, based at the School of Health Science, you’ll benefit from being taught by a team of world-leading experts. In fact, 92% of our research in allied health professions and nursing was assessed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ (REF 2014).?

You can complete the course on a full-time or part-time basis, and it’s ideal if you’re also thinking of going on to a PhD.?

Tailored to your needs and interests, our Clinical Research programme will equip you with the tools and knowledge to help you achieve your professional goals. You’ll develop the skills to conduct critical analysis of evidence, and to carry out in-depth qualitative and quantitative research. You’ll acquire the leadership qualities needed to deliver the best and most effective service. And our interprofessional approach means that you’ll be learning with students from related disciplines, giving you a unique insight into their roles and ideas.?

ASSESSMENT FOR YEAR 1

You will be assessed through a combination of methods including exams and extended essays, as well as your Master’s thesis.?
