If you are a business graduate and you want to take your studies, and career, to the next level, this is the course for you. You’ll be someone who’s open-minded, intellectually-curious, and a creative thinker. You’ll be ambitious about finding innovative solutions to complex business problems.

To understand how to manage people, you need to understand their point of view and the context they are working in. For that reason you won’t just study management theory and practice, you’ll explore all the key business disciplines, including management, marketing, accounting, finance, operations, logistics, human resources, organisational behaviour, entrepreneurship, business creation and branding. You’ll gain a broad understanding of markets and how and why they work the way they do. You’ll learn from leading academics and practitioners in each field, immersing yourself in all aspects of business, learning something about everything and developing awareness of a diverse range of business issues.

Alongside this you’ll study a broad range of management topics, learning how to critically analyse key theories and techniques.

The broad focus of the course means you’ll graduate with the ability to see challenges from many perspectives. You’ll be able to generalise insights and techniques from one sector to another, as well as across regions, cultures and disciplines. You’ll also be able to see problems from the point of view of the different business areas. As a result you’ll be well placed to be a leader in your field.

Good management means being able to see problems from every perspective, and understanding that there might not always be a single right answer. On this course you’ll study a range of business disciplines and learn to handle such complexities.?

You will study the science of management from an evidence-based perspective and discover what works in the field of management and why. You’ll learn to critically analyse existing theories, and develop and propose solutions of your own.?

This is a research-based Master’s so a background in business is essential. You might be coming straight from undergraduate study, or you may have worked in industry for a time since graduating. Many of our students have worked in - or aspire to go on to work in - their family businesses
