专业概况

在这里学什么？ Literature at Essex has a great tradition of nurturing writers and thinkers. From past giants such as Robert Lowell, Ted Berrigan and Ben Okri who have shaped literature as we know it, to prize-winning contemporary writers such as Professors Derek Walcott and Marina Warner, Essex has always attracted people who are at the heart of defining and redefining literature. So come and study with us and find your voice. You explore topics from literature and sociology. In your first year, you take a core literature option and a core sociology option which gives you a good grounding in key theories in both subjects. You can then choose optional modules from across both departments and, in your first year, from outside both departments, where appropriate.You spend your third year on a placement gaining relevant work experience within an external business or organisation, giving you a competitive edge in the graduate job market and providing you with key contacts within the industry.
