专业概况

在这里学什么？ Essex is a world leader in social science, with Sociology ranked among the top 50 departments on the planet according to the QS World University Rankings (2017). Politics and political events dominate domestic and international news and impact on our day-to-day lives, as well as shaping the future. You explore major areas of political science, including political systems, political behaviour and political ideas. Sociology analyses the different kinds of social tensions, interactions and networks that make up everyday life. These two disciplines – offered here by two of the UK’s leading social science departments - combine well together. Both pose broad questions about the world and offer practical research skills to help you to investigate these questions. Your third year spent abroad gives you the chance to gain more experience and become even more employable. Through our Q-Step Affiliate Status, we offer you the opportunity to develop your quantitative skills by taking a specialised degree pathway or receiving a student bursary to go on a quantitative work placement. Q-Step is funded by the Nuffield Foundation.
