Our International Economics and Finance MSc will suit you if you have a non-financial background. It is also for those interested in a management career with an emphasis on finance and international economics.

About this course

The behaviour of public and private sector organisations is significantly influenced by international economic developments in the financial and goods markets. As a result, there is a demand in the market for individuals with a comprehensive understanding of:

economic and financial theory policy dimensions within an open economy context

This course will suit motivated students who want to pursue careers in:

investment banking financial research financial trading.

What you'll learn

You will gain an international perspective in the role of finance and monetary policy. You will learn to understand and analyse:

international finance markets the international trading system the role played by key supranational institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Trade Organization (WTO)

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

deploy the main analytical techniques in the area of finance and have an advanced capability with some of these techniques critically assess the quality of the analytical data generated by these techniques synthesise and present relevant data, conclusions and recommendations to both specialist and non-specialist audiences exercise responsibility and leadership in group projects apply knowledge, skills and understanding to complex issues within finance and related industries.
