Programme description

The MMus in Musicology takes a broad and contemporary approach to musical scholarship, and equips students with the context, skills and critical understanding necessary to undertake original research in this dynamic and increasingly interdisciplinary field.

You will be taught by leading academics whose research interests cover a broad range of approaches and genres, including: the cultural and material history of music music and politics; popular music studies music analysis; music instrument research; music and audiovisual media; music psychology *jazz studies

The programme allows you to develop specialised skills in researching and writing about music, and to pursue, in greater depth, an area of special research interest.

为来自中国的学生设计 You should have a good first degree from a recognised institution, with minimum grades of between 80-85%. This is the University’s general minimum requirement but some programmes may have specific qualification requirements as well. Entry requirements vary from course to course and in cases there is also variation in the standards required for entry to certain courses. Courses in great demand are likely to require higher entry grades. Please refer the university website for details of the English Language requirements for entry to individual postgraduate degree programmes.
