The Bachelor of Arts with Music Education prepares students for New York State Initial Teacher Certification in Music PreK-12. This program (coordinated with the Division of Education) provides a solid structured musical education and a firm foundation in music pedagogy for students preparing to teach in public or private schools. These students complete the college liberal arts studies, the basic music curriculum, along with education and music education classes. Taking the Music Qualifying Exam is required for this program.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have high school program incorporating 4 years of English, 4 years of social studies, 3 years of math, 3 years of foreign language, and at least 2 years of lab science. Strong candidates have a high school average of B (GPA = 80) or better, or a GED of at least 3500. Applicants also need to submit SAT or ACT scores. Applicants, who score below a 100 on the TOEFL IBT, or below a 7 on the IELTS, will be required to register for the Graduate English as a Second Language (GESL) course during the first semester.
