专业概况

在这里学什么？

The curriculum in adolescent education is designed for students who wish to become middle, junior high, and senior high school teachers. In tandem with an academic major, students complete a 24-credit major in secondary education (7–12). The department provides New York State-approved teacher-certification programs in English, mathematics, science, social studies, and foreign language.

We generate and disseminate knowledge through research as well as education and training of undergraduate and graduate students. Our students become engaged citizens and prepared for leadership roles in science, technology and the health professions.

中国学生入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have high school program incorporating 4 years of English, 4 years of social studies, 3 years of math, 3 years of foreign language, and at least 2 years of lab science. Strong candidates have a high school average of B (GPA = 80) or better, or a GED of at least 3500. Applicants also need to submit SAT or ACT scores. Applicants, who score below a 100 on the TOEFL IBT, or below a 7 on the IELTS, will be required to register for the Graduate English as a Second Language (GESL) course during the first semester.
