If you’re curious about how our mind works and what drives human behaviour, psychology is your perfect subject. At Essex you acquire skills that go far beyond being useful in related professions. Studying psychology is an investment for life. You cover core areas in psychology with cognitive neuroscience including brain and behaviour, methods in cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, personality and individual differences, language, memory, perception, social psychology, and research methods and statistics. With a strong emphasis on the teaching of research skills, you learn how to design effective studies of your own, and to appraise and critically evaluate those of others.
