Content of Janice's speech：

Social responsibility, rejection of waste, and sustainable development has been canker on our planet earth which all of has a part to play in that.

Good morning teachers and fellow students my name is Janice from grade 12 class and I am up here today to share a little about something really important that we often give it a blind sight or probably ignore which is the EARTH.

The earth is a homeland for human beings, and all people live in different parts of the earth. However, as human technology develops better and better, the ecological homeland of the earth has also suffered more damage. Maybe for us, our actions will not have any effect on it, but when most people are doing this kind of destructive action, then how much harm will the earth suffer?

Recently, there has been an international news that has been arousing everyone's discussion, that is, Japan plans to discharge nuclear sewage into the sea. Everyone should know that nuclear-related materials are full of radioactive radiation, which will affect the development of organisms and lead to biological mutations. Just imagine, if the Japanese government really decides to dump these nuclear sewage into the sea, as the sea fluctuates, it will not only be the creatures surrounding Japan, but the entire world. When the ocean is polluted, whoever dares to eat seafood, then those fishermen will lose their jobs, and tourists will not be able to sail at will. Japan's actions like this temporarily affected the ocean around itself, but what is about to endanger the entire human race.

When we live in the world, we should all have a sense of social responsibility, just to chip in this that even in marketing, there is a marketing concept called “societal marketing concept” which simply means companies should protect the environment of which they operate in and the social welfare of the people and this shoulders the responsibility of protecting the world and the people around us.

Many people in the world are still in poverty. They do not have enough food and nutrition to survive and may face imminent death every day. In our lives, there are still many people wasting food and complaining that the food in the cafeteria is unappetizing. Compared to those who worry about food all day long, our lives can be said to be very happy. Every day when the meal is ready, we go to the cafeteria to eat the prepared meals, and then go to the supermarket to buy snacks after the meal.

However, the situation of waste in the cafeteria is still very serious. It is often seen that many meals are dumped into the trash can. Imagine that if we can eat as much as we can, the food that is dumped in the trash will not be wasted. Now the resources on the earth are being gradually consumed, and their rebirth ability is far from being consumed, so on one day these resources will be exhausted. Nowadays, scientists have searched and studied many things to replace these exhausted resources, so that we can have sustainable resource. The life of human is the same, and no one will not be included. Therefore while we are constantly consuming resources, we also need to find some ways to make the resources sustainable, so that people's life can rise steadily.
