专业概况

在这里学什么？

The comprehensive program leading to the Master of Arts offers students a variety of approaches to French studies, including courses in French literature ranging from the medieval to the contemporary periods, French civilization, advanced translation, and stylistics. Seminars are given in methodology or selected topics.

Arts and Humanities encompasses the core liberal arts tradition at Queens College. Our aim is not only to introduce students to the best of what has been said and thought for over three thousand years, but also to encourage students to become creators themselves. The languages and literatures of contemporary Asia as well as the roots of the West in ancient Greece and Rome, the glories of the European and American novel, the latest masterpieces of world cinema, linguistics and the visual and performing arts--all can be studied in exciting programs with dynamic teachers who contribute to the culture of our time.

An education in Arts and Humanities is still the best chance for people in our society to discover the life of the mind as an active challenge and a rich historical legacy, as well as a chance to develop a personal sense of one's own greatest mental capacity.

中国学生入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 All students applying for admission as master's matriculants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or the foreign equivalent, with an undergraduate record indicating good preparation for the proposed area of graduate study. Good preparation is generally interpreted to mean a minimum academic average of B in undergraduate work considered by the department and the Office of Graduate Studies to be relevant to the proposed area of study. Applicants, who score below a 100 on the TOEFL IBT, or below a 7 on the IELTS, will be required to register for the Graduate English as a Second Language (GESL) course during the first semester.
