The M.S. program requires 36 credit hours and completion of a project, or portfolio. Students wishing to complete a thesis should consult their advisor.

Earth Systems Science

Students are able to earn an M.S. degree in Geography with specialization in Environmental and Earth System Science after completing 36 credits of graduate coursework and submitting a master's thesis, project, portfolio, or comprehensive exam (currently unavailable). This concentration requires a minimum of three courses in analytical and quantitative Earth surface processes. Courses applied toward M.S. Program core requirements cannot be counted toward the Track electives.

Economic Geography and Business Geographics

Students are able to earn an M.S. degree in Geography with specialization in Economic Geography & Business Geographics after completing 36 credits of graduate coursework and submitting a master's thesis, project, portfolio, or comprehensive exam (currently unavailable). Courses applied toward M.S. Program core requirements cannot be counted toward the Track electives.

Health Geography

Students are able to earn an M.S. degree in Geography with specialization in Health Geography after completing 36 credits of graduate coursework and submitting a master's thesis, project, portfolio, or comprehensive exam (currently unavailable). Courses applied toward M.S. Program core requirements cannot be counted toward the Track electives.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
