The MArch + MUP embraces the notion that architecture and urban planning are fundamentally intertwined as evidenced by the impact of architecture on the urban fabric and the influence of urban planning on architecture.

Architects and planners design physical environments and systems with which people interact every day. Direct, tangible engagement with this "material" - whether it be structural steel, streetscapes or citizen activists - is fundamental to aspiring architects and planners. This learn-by-doing approach to professional education is the crux of the Buffalo School program. From the studio to the community, Buffalo School students and faculty constantly "do" and "make" through applied research, built works and creative activities. Here in Buffalo, design inquiry becomes design-build while planning concepts become adopted plans for communities.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
