The Master of Science in Accounting program is designed for accounting students or professionals who have completed an undergraduate accounting degree from a U.S. college/university and who seek to enhance their technical and professional skills through completion of an advanced degree in accounting. The one-year full-time curriculum, together with most undergraduate accounting programs, should satisfy the 150-hour educational requirement for certification and licensure as a certified public accountant(CPA). Our MS Accounting graduates have consistently out-performed the top largest accounting programs in New York State on the CPA exam.

Financial Accounting and Assurance Track: Most accounting courses focus on learning the rules, techniques and computations required to prepare and analyze financial information. Auditing courses focus on the analytical and logical skills necessary to evaluate the relevance and reliability of the information. Therefore, the study of auditing is more conceptual in nature.

Internal Audit and Risk Management Track: Compliance and risk mitigation are hot topics in government and business, especially in fast-growing industries such as technology, health care and finance. Internal auditors often advance through the ranks of lead internal audit and chief audit executive, and have the critical-thinking and analytical skills necessary for other C-suite positions.

Taxation Track: Individuals, small businesses, large corporations and even nonprofits require supportive resources and strategic services to comply with the complicated and ever-changing U.S. tax laws, creating a constant demand for tax professionals.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
