专业概况

在这里学什么？

You’ll gain a solid foundation for high-demand biotechnology and biomedical careers with our master of arts program in microbiology and immunology. You’ll also be well prepared to pursue PhD, medical or dental education programs.

In our flexible program, you can make the most of your elective time to delve into topics of particular interest. You may further explore gene expression, bioinformatics and computational biology, and developmental genomics and stem cell biology. You will learn directly from experts in these and other high-demand areas.

You also may use your elective time to pursue your own independent research. You must first identify a faculty mentor who shares your interests and will agree to work with you one-on-one. At the end of your program, you will demonstrate your knowledge through a comprehensive examination.

Curriculum

Our 30-credit Master of Science (MS) degree in microbiology and immunology prepares you to enter scientific careers in both the public and private sectors. Your degree also can help you gain entry to PhD, medical and dental degree programs.

Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
