专业概况

The M.S. in Natural Science is a flexible graduate program that offers students the option of combining one area of natural science with graduate course work in a variety of related disciplines. Fields of study available to students in this program include Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology, Geohazards, Mathematics, Physics, and CSEQUIN.

Generally, a maximum of six credit hours of course work offered in Social Sciences, Humanities or through the Graduate School of Education, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the School of Public Health and Health Professions, the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and the Graduate Division of Roswell Park Cancer Institute, may be applied to this program.

The Program: 33 Credit Hours

The specific program of study for each student is determined in consultation with the Director and faculty adviser. Students are required to complete 33 credit hours of graduate level work consisting of:

• 15 credit hours in an area of concentration selected from among the natural sciences or in mathematics, including 1 research methods course.
• 15 credit hours in courses in a second area of natural sciences or in mathematics. With prior approvals up to six of these hours may be in an area of the Humanities, Social Sciences or a Professional School.
• 3 credit hours of project guidance.

Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
