Why study Pharmacology and Toxicology BS/MS at UB?

During the MS component of your studies, we will match you with outstanding, internationally recognized mentors to support your research interests. In addition to faculty in our department, you may conduct interdisciplinary research at the world-renowned Roswell Park Cancer Institute or in other departments on campus.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the BS/MS program, you will have completed substantial graduate coursework, giving you a competitive advantage in applying to Ph.D. programs and a strong foundation for advanced graduate research.

Our highly competitive degrees also prepare students for MD and Dental programs and positions in pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as medical patent law.

Career Outlook

The broad academic background provides students with a wide array of career opportunities. Many graduates enter medical or dental schools or pursue graduate studies in pharmacology or other biochemical sciences. Pharmacology graduates find employment in technical, production/analytical, or sales positions as research scientists or drug information specialists in the pharmaceutical industry, government, university laboratories, and hospitals. Students have also pursued careers in law and management following completion of their BS degree in pharmacology.

为来自中国的学生设计 Admission to UB’s freshman class is selective and is based in part on the quality of your secondary school academic record and the number of spaces available in the class. You should feel confident applying to UB if you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school to help prepare you to be successful at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale and we expect students applying here to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B or 83 on a 100-point scale. English Language Scores: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 70, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 523, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.0, the minimum score of PTE is 50, CAEL 70, CanTEST 4.5, Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) score 185; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score 185, IB Higher Level English a Literature 4, IB Higher Level English a Language and Literature 4.
