Our master’s degree program achieves an ideal blend of theoretical analysis and real-world applications. The “applied” nature of our program aims to fill a niche; unlike a degree in business administration, we rely on fundamental economic analysis to explain capital goods and markets, the impact of government policies, and efficient business operations. As a result, not only will students be able to understand what is happening in business, macro, and international economy, they will also know why.

The MA Economics degree teaches practical applications of theoretical economics and quantitative methods which commands a high premium in many industries, including banking, finance, health care, international trade, advocacy groups, and government. It is one of the only programs in the nation to involve specialists in professional schools of law, medicine, management, and education, as well as those in the departments of mathematics and geography. The resulting Advanced Certificates expands economics-specific knowledge in Financial, International, Information and Internet, Law and Regulation, Health, and Urban and Regional subjects

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all; A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions. English Language Requirements: The minimum score of TOEFL IBT is 79, the minimum score TOEFL PBT is 550, the minimum score of IELTS is 6.5, the minimum score of PTE is 55, the minimum score of Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) 185, the minimum score of Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 185.
