专业概况

在这里学什么？

DSU's professional accountancy major takes you beyond traditional accounting and prepares you for certification. You’ll learn the essentials of accounting, but at DSU, you’ll also get a solid background in the technical systems underlying modern accounting. This will help you understand, manage, and lead accounting teams-or start your own business.

Our professional accountancy track prepares you to become a certified public accountant (CPA). In South Dakota and most other states, CPA candidates are required to have 150 semester hours of college credit before they’re allowed to take the test. This is more than the average major requires, so we created this professional track degree especially for this requirement.

If you don’t want your CPA or you want to finish the program sooner, take a look at our Bachelor of Business Administration–Accounting program.

Accounting students can also choose to continue their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at DSU. If you’re interested in a graduate degree, we’ll work with you to develop a plan for your future and make sure you take all the right courses.

Accreditation

Our professional accountancy major is one of a handful of schools in South Dakota accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). This means that in addition to meeting all evaluation criteria and curriculum standards, DSU is also involved in the creation of innovative programs. This additional accreditation means your degree will be recognized wherever you go.
