上师大附二外国际部于5月22日下午活动课时在操场上举行了此次拔河比赛，参与人员有：美高部全体师生和韩国部师生。比赛流程是：首先美高部全体师生内部比赛，然后美高部和韩国部的师生代表进行比赛。

Our school held the tug-of-war on the playground in the afternoon of May 22. The participants included all the teachers and students of the International Department and Korean department. The competition process was as follows: Teachers and students from the International Division were divided teams, which competed in a knock out competition. Following the final, a composite team from the International Division competed against the Korean Department.

比赛前，通过抽签，美高部全体师生被分为8个组。比赛时，每个小组都使出了浑身解数。平时柔弱的女生和女老师憋红了脸，磨破了手，还是紧紧抓着绳子不放松;而强壮的男生和男老师则一边吼叫着，一边奋力向己方拉拽绳索。挂在粗绳中间的小水瓶，晃晃悠悠，一会儿溜向了左边，一会儿滑到了右边。

Before the competition, by drawing lots, all the teachers and students of the International Division were divided into eight equal groups. During the competition, each group pushed themselves to the limit. Despite faces that were red with exertion, and blistered hands, the girls and female teachers still clung to the rope, refusing to yield. The boys and male teachers kept the spirit strong with shouting, while they pulled with all their might to get the magic marker to their side. The magic marker was a small water bottle, hanging in the middle of the rope and swaying, as it was tugged from left and from right.

比赛一场接着一场，师生的热情一波高过一波。有嗓子喊哑了的;有一边用冰袋敷着受伤的手，一边争着上场的。

As the competition progressed, the enthusiasm of the spectators grew. Ice was available to help those who were injured! Students all volunteered to attend the game.

最后，美高部与韩国部的比赛将整场的气氛推向最高潮!韩国部的参赛学生身体魁梧，美高部的上场学生也是强健有力。随着一声哨令，呐喊声顿时响彻云霄，手握粗绳的每位选手都猛蹬双腿，全力将小水瓶拉向己方，有些身体都快贴到地面了。经过不懈的努力，三局两胜之后，美高部赢得了胜利!

Finally, it was time for a showdown between the two departments. The Korean Department had some powerful members, but the International Division felt that with their own strength they could overpower the Korean Department. Spectators all shouted for their team, and all participants tried their best to pull the magic to their team. Some tried so hard that the body was close to the ground. In the end, the International Division was able to triumph, by winning twice to prevent the match going to a final do or die challenge!

虽然比赛有输赢，但所有的参与者都从中获得了极大的乐趣!

The real winner was the fact that everyone, whether they were winners or losers, all thoroughly enjoyed the competition!
