2019年3月13日，上海师范大学附属第二外国语学校的东大门缓缓打开，一辆满载篮球运动员的大巴车徐徐驶进，揭开了“青春杯”中学生篮球联赛的序幕。

On March 13, 2019, the gate of the Second Foreign Language School affiliated to Shanghai Normal University opened, and a bus full of basketball players entered, marking the start of the Youth Cup Basketball League for middle school students.

“青春杯”中学生篮球联赛

本联赛的参与学校有：上海市南汇中学、上海光华学院、西外外国语学校和上海师范大学附属第二外国语学校。希望通过联赛增加学校间、队伍间的情谊，促进校际交流合作，传递体育竞技精神;同时搭建展现学生才能的平台，激发学生的竞争意识。本联赛采用双循环制，赛季结束将颁发各类集体奖和个人奖。

The league's participating schools are: Shanghai Nanhui Middle School, Shanghai Guanghua College, West Foreign Language School and the Second Foreign Language School affiliated to Shanghai Normal University. The purpose of the league is to develop the friendship between schools and teams through league matches, promote inter-school exchanges and cooperation, and also convey the spirit of sports competitiveness. At the same time, we plan to build a platform to showcase students’ abilities and stimulate students' competitive consciousness. The league runs on a round robin basis, and various team and individual awards will be awarded at the end of the season.

参加本次开幕式的各方嘉宾有：南汇中学张军先生，西外高中国际部Marvin Brooks老师，我校参加领导有：党支部书记顾春女士，学校副校长崔晶女士、刘望先生、孙金松先生和邢海燕女士。

Visiting participants in the opening ceremony were Mr. Zhang Jun of Nanhui Middle School, and Mr. Marvin Brooks of the International Department of Xiwai High School. The leaders of our school who were present were: Secretary of Party Branch, Ms. Gu Chun. And Vice-Presidents of the school, Ms. Cui Jing, Mr. Liu Wang, Mr. Sun Jinsong and Ms. Xing Haiyan.

首先，主持人王禹童和王达两位同学邀请顾春女士为开幕式致词。顾春女士鼓励学生学习、发扬奥林匹克“更高、更快、更强”的精神，希望各方本着“友谊**，比赛第二”的原则，赛出风格、赛出水平，将公正、友好、拼搏贯穿联赛始终。

Lucy Wang and Altoria Wang hosted the event, calling firstly on Ms. Gu Chun to give the opening address. She encouraged students to keep improving and carry forward the Olympic motto of "higher, faster and stronger". She hoped that all parties would follow the principle of "friendship first, competition second" and compete with honor and at a high level, so that justice, friendship and competition would run through the league.

接着，各方队员代表上场表演“三分球大战”，我校李亚洲同学获得**，并颁发获奖，合影留念。

Then, representatives of all the teams came onto the court for the "Three-point Battle". Liam Li of our school was awarded first prize, receiving a group photo as a souvenir.

然后，我校拉拉队给全场师生表演了热情洋溢的开场舞，体现了孩子们的青春活力，拉动了现场活跃的气氛。

Our school’s enthusiastic cheerleading team then enhanced the atmosphere of the event by performing a lively dance entitled, “Shape of You” for the whole audience, which embodied the youthful vitality of the students.

最后，美高部Mr. Trevor Wattrus老师为队员们开球，联赛揭幕战正式打响!

Finally, Mr. Trevor Wattrus of the International Division formally got the first match going, and the league was officially launched.

首场比赛由我校对阵西外，两队孩子龙拿虎跳、风驰电掣，时而篮下争球像群狼，时而场上速跑似脱兔，时而互相传球如一体，时而隔空投篮犹神助，……在场师生，欢声不断、呐喊震天;现场十分激烈火热。

The first game was played by our school against the West High School. The two teams of players competed fiercely but fairly for the ball. It was a great mix of basketball talent, with some skillful passing and daring shots from both teams. The teachers and students joined in the excitement, by cheering and shouting for every positive effort; the air was filled with excitement.

比赛结束后，双方队员都觉得在比赛中发挥得不错，希望能多参加这类比赛，提高自身能力，为本队争取更好的分数。同时，也十分肯定对方的表现，期待下次再切磋。

After the game, players from both teams felt satisfied with their efforts. They hope to participate in more such games, to improve their ability and be able to score more frequently. At the same time, both teams respected each other’s basketball skills and competitive spirit and look forward to playing against each other again in the upcoming games.

双方教练感觉孩子们在比赛中整体发挥还有进步空间，要更多培养队员们在团队配合上的能力。相信随着训练时间的增加，两队会打得更加出色。并期待未来可以拓展其他运动竞技比赛，共同提高学生们的各项素质。

The coaches of both sides feel that there is still room for improvement in the overall play of the students, and they will focus especially on teamwork and cooperation. They believe that with regular training, both teams will show consistent improvement. They also hope to expand this competition into other sports in the future and collectively improve students' sport skills.
