各位好，上师大附二外国际部每周一次的升旗仪式又与大家见面，本周升旗仪式的两位主持人是来自毕业班的邱同学和唐同学，她们的主持大方、沉稳。

Welcome again to another report of the weekly flag-raising ceremony. This week’s ceremony was hosted by Tina Qiu and Elaine Tang from the Grade 12 class.

在庄重的升旗仪式之后，教务长Mr. Wattrus给全体师生作了关于上师大附二外国际部校训的演讲。

After the solemn flag-raising ceremony, the Academic Director, Mr. Wattrus, gave a speech to all the teachers and students. The speech was about the school motto of our department.

Mr. Wattrus首先向师生们发问：什么是生存的必要条件?与食物和水对比之后，在场师生觉得空气是最重要的。我部校训的缩写形式正是AIR(空气)，这意味着校训和空气同等重要，是我们精神层面不可或缺的，与我们的生命同呼吸、共生存。接着，Mr. Wattrus结合事例，具体阐述了“成志向、秉仁信、尚敬重”的内涵。这场幽默风趣，富有启发的演讲让我部校训沁入每位师生的内心。

Mr. Wattrus first asked what was most important for survival. It is not food or water, but air. This then is also the abbreviated form of our school motto, which means that the school motto is as important as air, which is something we have a daily need of. The full motto is: Aspiration, Integrity, Respect. Mr. Wattrus went on to explain what the three words meant, encouraging students to aim higher, be honest in all their dealings and learn to treat everyone, including themselves, with respect.

At today's flag-raising ceremony, there were also awards handed out.

首先，由崔校颁发三、四月份的优秀班级奖，获奖班级为11年级4班、11年级2班和11年级5班。十一年级的学生用自己的良好表现赢得了此项荣誉，也让我们对他们的大学申请充满了期待。

First, Principal Cui awarded the top homeroom awards for March and April. Grade 11-4, 11-2 and 11-5 won these awards. Considering that these students will be applying for college acceptance next year, it gives us hope for their future.

其次，胡勇老师颁发四月份文明寝室的流动红旗，610、904、1001寝室喜获此奖。这些寝室的同学们能始终保持寝室干净、有序、整齐，有很好的时间管理水平和很强的自律意识，赢得此奖实至名归，在此表示祝贺!

Secondly, Mr. Hu Yong presented the Honorary Pendant for best-kept dormitory rooms for April. Rooms 610, 904 and 1001 won this award. The students in these rooms always keep their rooms neat and tidy, show good sense of time management and have a strong sense of self-discipline. As such, they all deserve this award. Congratulations!

今天还有十分有意思的比赛项目宣讲，比如体育组主办的拔河比赛，潘同学和黄同学组织的乒乓球比赛。大家抓紧行动起来吧，赶快找相关负责人报名哦……

Today, there was also an announcement about two interesting sport competitions. Firstly, a tug-of-war competition has been arranged by the sports department. Secondly, Mars Pan and Jeffery Huang have arranged a table tennis competition, which is open to students and teachers. All were encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
