准备申请大学的资料是每位高中生的必经之路，其涉及面广、关注点多，学生和家长往往容易感到迷茫、无助。为了帮助上海师范大学附属第二外国语学校学生更充分、更顺利地准备升学资料，学校于2019年3月11日晚，在一楼多功能厅由升学指导王老师为十一年级学生举办了升学指导讲座。

Preparing to apply for college entrance is very important to every high school student. It involves a wide range of concerns, which students and parents are often confused and clueless about.In order to help our students prepare for their college entrance applications more successfully and efficiently, a lecture on college entrance directions and guidance for the eleventh grade students was held by Mr. Wang last March 11 at 6:30 p.m.in the multi-functional hall on the first floor.

升学讲座

其间，王老师提醒学生们注意大学申请的时间安排，确定大学申请途径;在准备申请资料时，一是要及时核对GPA、TOEFL、SAT等成绩，二是在展现自身良好的学术成绩，又要体现出参加的课外活动很丰富，所以平时要注重整理自己的非学术材料，如各类奖状，来自第三方证明的个人特长材料等。

He raised some important points to the students worth mentioning.Firstly, he said students needed to be aware of timelines with respect to their applications, so they would not miss important deadlines.Secondly, he told the students that correctly completing the application is extremely important. Students should pay attention to their TOEFL and SAT scores, as well as their GPA. Having a good academic record is key to receiving a good offer. He also emphasized the importance of extra-curricular activities, such as music or sports, as well as volunteer work and community service. He further advised the students to collect and use all awards and certificates they have received from the various activities they have participated in.

最后，王老师鼓励学生们积极行动起来，并在申请大学时应以“适合，才是比较好的”为原则，早日拿到令自己满意的大学的offer。

Finally, Mr. Wang encouraged the students to be realistic when looking for a college or university. The idea “The college that fits my needs is the best” is a useful way to search for the right college. Students should be pro-active and aim to get an offer from a suitable college as soon as possible.
